Please let us know if you have any questions. If you would like to place any orders, just give us a call at 305-246-1592.

Robert Is Here with Emeril Lagasse!
Hello everyone,
We have exciting news… Robert Is Here is going to be featured on an episode of Emeril’s Florida with Emeril Lagasse. This episode will focus on Florida’s agriculture and will air on the Cooking Channel on Sunday, January 27th at 10:30 am. We had a great time filming for the show back in December with Emeril and his crew. We hope you will all be able to watch and enjoy!
Around the fruit stand, we have an abundance of fresh, local vegetables. There are also numerous tropical fruits this time of year, including papayas, Asian guavas, passion fruit, canistel, black sapote, mamey sapote, sapodilla, and imported Kent mangos. Our Indian River citrus is tree ripened, so you can be sure that it is sweet and juicy. This time of year, we may get some of the more unusual and delicious jaboticoba and caimito (also known as star or custard apple).
If you are in South Florida, don’t forget to stop by on the weekends for some of our fantastic homemade guacamole and salsa. You will definitely want to pick some up for your Super Bowl party on February 3rd, along with one of our tasty fruit milkshakes.
We hope everyone is off to a great start to the new year and we hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,

Hello everyone,
I would
like to start out this month’s newsletter by thanking everyone for their great
support and praise. Last month, the Associated Press ran a great story about
our 50th anniversary in several newspapers throughout the country.
We would just like to thank those of you who took your time to mail us
clippings of that story from your local newspapers. It is very inspiring to see
that we have support throughout the entire country. We also want to thank all
our customers who have made it possible to last 50 years in the same location.
On
another note, Labor Day (Monday, September 6th), marks the last day
of our season. The fruit stand will be closed from September 7th
until November 5th. During that time, we will be preparing our
fields for the upcoming vegetable season. We are scheduled to start planting
our herbs, eggplant, tomatoes, cabbage, collard greens, and broccoli on October
1st. By closing down for 2 months out of the year, not only are we
able to prepare for the winter, spring, and summer months, but we can possibly
avoid having to pack and unpack our entire stock multiple times during the
worst of hurricane season.
WE WILL
BE PICKING MANGOES THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER. Wednesday, September
8th marks the first pick-date for the Keitt mangoes. The mangoes may
be purchased online through our web site to be shipped to any location in the
US. If you wish to pick the mangoes up from our store, you must arrange a time
and date with Robert so he can have somebody in the store to take care of you.
You must email us at fresh@robertishere.com
if you wish to pick mangoes up in store.
Any of
our gourmet jars can also be purchased online through the web site. If you
would like to pick them up, the same rules apply; just email us with a date and
time.
We hope
that everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend and we pray that you stay
safe.
Thank you
again,

Lychees, new price!
This is just an update on the price of lychees stated in the previous newsletter. The price has now gone down to:
Blackleaf... $6.50 / lb. and $60.00 / 10 pound box
Mauritious...$4.50 / lb. and $40.00 / 10 pound box
To keep emails to a minimum, I'd just like to mention that the price may fluctuate throughout the season. Most likely, the price will continue going down, but it is best to ask the current price at the time you place your order.
Remember: We charge UPS shipping rates which are based on weight and destination zip codes. If you would like to get an idea of shipping cost, you can visit UPS.com or give us a call at our store. 305-246-1592

Lychees are here!!!
Hello everyone!
I am
happy to say that lychees are finally in season. It has been a long wait, but
now that they’re here, it’s time to kick back and enjoy. You are more than
welcome to stop in and choose some delicious fruits to take home with you, or
you can choose to have them shipped anywhere in the US. The current price is
$6.50 per pound for the Mauritius Lychees, though sometimes the price
fluctuates throughout the season. We also offer a 10 pound box for $55.00. If
you would like them shipped for you, please remember that if they are going
anywhere outside of Central or South Florida, they will have to be shipped via
UPS Next Day Air to preserve their freshness. Later in the season, we hope to
have other varieties such as Brooster, Black Leaf, Sweetheart, and Emperor. We’ll
have to wait and see what the availability on those will be.
On
another note: we also currently have Mamey Sapote in season ($3.50/lb) as well
as Sapodilla (Also known as Nispero, Chico, or Nisbery…$4.95/lb.) In addition,
we have Canistel ($3.50/lb.), Jackfruit ($2.75/lb.), Passion Fruit ($5.95/lb), White
Asian Guavas ($5.95/lb.), Red Dragon Fruit ($6.50/lb), and Tamarind ($2.50/
half lb.) We will be happy to ship these to you as well if you would like. All
you have to do is call us or email to place your order. Ph: 305-246-1592 Email:
fresh@robertishere.com . We accept
most Major Credit Cards (Not Discover) or you may pay via PayPal if you wish.
Unfortunately,
the local mango season has not yet begun. Typically, this time of year, our
entire store is filled with the sweet aroma of fresh local mangoes. Due to the
extremely cold weather we had in January of this year, the mango production
schedule seems to be off. We hope to have them mature in the next couple of
weeks and we anxiously await their arrival. There’s nothing better than a
Florida mango in its prime. You just can beat the sweet, juicy fruit! Also, the
varieties that we grow do not have any strings so you can chew the meat right
off the seed and not have to worry about getting all those nasty strings in
your teeth. We’ll keep you updated on the varieties and the availability of the
mangoes as necessary.
I thank
you and urge you to please give us a call if you have any questions or comments.
Lychees have arrived early this year. We have the Mauritius and Black Leaf varieties. They can be purchased in store or we can ship to you. If you live anywhere outside of southern or central Florida, the lychees must be shipped UPS Next Day Air.
